L’Inverno era arrivato, e con esso gli Estranei, mentre il Westeros era diviso per la guerra per il Trono di Spade. Fu allora che Daenerys, a cavallo di Drogon, portò il fuoco laddove gli Estranei avevano portato il ghiaccio. Insieme a lei vi erano Aegon, il figlio creduto morto di Rhaegar Targaryen, che cavalcò Rhaegal, mentre Viserion fu preso da Jon Snow. La battaglia fu cruenta, e proprio quest’ultimo Drago andò perduto, scomparendo nella neve assieme al suo cavaliere, tuttavia le leggende narrano che sia stato trasformato in un Drago di Ghiaccio e che si sia unito agli Estranei, che sono stati ricacciati al di là della Barriera ma non sconfitti definitivamente. Il Regno dei Targaryen poté così riprendere...
